I haven’t been diagnosis w anything but I’m hyper mobile in some ways and very much not flexible in others. Like I need to stretch my muscles for sure but my individual joints can move a lot. My hips hyperextend and dislocate pretty often but usually if I sit in odd positions, if my legs are stretched out it never happens. Like I can’t touch my toes anymore (partly from some weight gain and partly bc I don’t stretch often anymore) or do splits, but if my knees are bent I can tuck them behind my shoulders bc my hips just rotate a ton. It sucks it’s super painful when my hips aren’t where they’re supposed to be and I have some nerve entrapments in other joints bc of over extensions. :/

For the first one, I was a rhythmic gymnast when I was younger (still am), and the thing with the toes is something called “overtoes”. Overall it’s actually really fun but hurts when our coach forces us to sit like that for 10+ minutes 🥲

Im now learning that because of my ligament disability, the more stuff I did like climbing trees, doing the splits, etc, mean the worse my ligaments got. The more I did this stuff means rhe less I can do this sruff

I’m going to get tested for HEDS soon…me and my sister have been researching it and wanting to get tested because we have a lot of the same symptoms…my sister was diagnosed but I haven’t yet but it’s basically implied that I have it and I must say the only thing about it that is cool is the hyper mobility..I am constantly in pain and constantly have joint pain…idk if there’s a joint in my body that doesn’t pop when I move it…so no you don’t want it
When I go not even super hard with stretching. My hamstrings are hurt af fucked for a whole week

If you think about it, if everybody was “above average”, then nobody would be above average. This would theoretically continue until nobody can surpass a certain level of speed, flexibility or strength. I am not trying to say that you are wrong in any way, but I’m just pointing that out.

Hey, I'm wondering if my 3yo daughter who tends to sit in W-sitting position, is that safe for her growth? Since a lot of doctors suggest that W-sitting for toddler isn't good for their growth.

Jokes on you i had high levels of anxiety growing up... i never climbed trees
I get where you're coming from but the toe walking is really harmful to the kids because their bones are softer and there's a lot of cartilage still so if they walk that way it will affect the shape and form of their toes and it might later in life cause things like joint pain
